The Johnson County Library Foundation has named four outstanding individuals as winners of the annual 2011 Pinnacle Awards:  Carlos Antequera, Mark Gilman, Kathy McLellan, and Gregory T. Wolf.

The new revenue will go into the Kansas City Zoological District Trust Fund and not to the City of Kansas City.

The sale opens to the public on Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. on October 17 at the East Hills Shopping Center, 3702 Frederick Avenue. The sale will be set up near the food court. The Friends offer over 10,000 items for sale at great low prices. Days and times of the sale are Monday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Interpretive Master Plan, funded primarily with a federal grant from the prestigious Institute of Museum and Library Services and a supporting grant from the Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund, calls for a new 56,000 square foot facility to house the first museum in the nation dedicated to America's suburban story
