The third Monday in February remains a federal holiday celebrating George Washington's birthday. Despite efforts to establish a national holiday to honor all presidents, such was never enacted by Congress. Today, President's Day is a marketing and advertising campaign that borrowed Washington's Birthday and renamed it President's Day, but that's not all that happened to poor George's birthday celebration.
