From bats to bugs or fly fishing, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the city of St. Joseph will partner for a series of free Discover Nature — Fishing and nature programs this summer at Krug Park. The series will start on May 24 and end on Sept. 20.

Peregrine falcons in the Kansas City area and at a generating plant smokestack at Thomas Hill Reservoir in north-central Missouri are laying eggs and preparing to rear young. If viewed at the right time, they may see the young to hatch and later parents feeding the young.
