National Frontier Trails Museum Announces 30th Anniversary Celebration Events

NFTM has announced a special event calendar for March in celebration of its 30th anniversary. These events in March celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the National Frontier Trails Museum located near the historic Independence Square.

Trail Movie Nights: Westward the Women

This Free Event will be shown at the NFTM.

Westward the Women will be shown on Fridays, March 6 & 27 at 6 pm.
This 1951 MGM movie stars Robert Taylor, John McIntire, & Hope Emerson. In 1851, Roy Whitman (John McIntire) decides to bring marriageable women west to California to join the lonely men of Whitman’s Valley. Buck Wyatt (Robert Taylor) the wagon master leads the wagon train along the California Trail. Watch what happens as the women travel westward.

Pioneer Spring Cabin Sneak Peeks

Free Event on Sundays, March 8 & 29 at 2 pm located on the grounds of NFTM. Aaron Hagood owner of Hagood Construction & Old Fashion Cabins will be showing the progress on the restoration of this landmark cabin in Independence.

Painting Parties

Sarah Tucker Poff will lead young and old for this family friendly event. Reservations are required for this event and admission is $20. This event has two dates offerings and times to meet everyone’s schedule. They are:

Saturday, March 7 at 10 am at NFTM and Thursday, March 19 at 6 pm at NFTM

Pioneer Song

Bring the whole family to enjoy this original musical on the Oregon Trail. This musical event is Free and will take place:
Sunday, March 22, 2 pm at the NFTM

1842 Merchant Crawl

Mike Calvert will lead you around the Independence Square as he shares his knowledge on the past merchants of 1842 who resided on the Historic Square. There are two dates to help you decide on when you can tour and learn about the old Independence Square.

Saturday, March 14, 10 am on the Square and Saturday, March 28, 10 am on the Square

Meet Mike Calvert at the northeast corner of Main St. & Maple Avenue at the 3 Trails Brewery.
