Professional photographer Megan Wyeth of Wyeth Photography Design will lead a photography workshop at the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion, located at 1100 Charles Street, St. Joseph, Missouri. The workshop will be held on Thursday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Ms. Wyeth studied photography at the Kansas City Art Institute and has a degree in art history from the University of Kansas. Her serious interest in photography began at age 17 while studying with Ansel Adams in the Yosemite Valley. She has continued honing her craft by attending and participating in workshops led by other well-known photographers. She now leads workshops of her own in Kansas City and St. Joseph.
For the photography workshop at the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion, students can bring any camera they wish, including camera phones. Ms. Wyeth will show students how to visualize the finished product, experiment, work with lighting, and frame shots.
The workshop is limited to 14 students, and pre-paid reservations are required. The cost of the class is $25 ($20 for members of the St. Joseph Museum). For reservations or more information, call the St. Joseph Museum at 816-232-8471 or register online at stjosephmuseum.org/events.
